Play in the Making

Creative collaboration with Children, Young People, and their Adults,

in Arts, Education and Community settings.

GET IN TOUCH

Tally Ho is an award-winning artist collective working creatively with children, young people and their adults in their lives through play-making.

Winner of the Judges' Choice Award for Innovation in Children's Theatre at Dublin Fringe Festival 2024, we create experiences that prioritise play, process, and child participation—bringing together role-playing, storytelling, comedy, improvisation, and visual arts in work that feels live, bold, and joyous.

Who We Are

Darren Yorke, Duffy Mooney Sheppard, and Liam McCarthy  collaborated on Fergal for MAKE 2021, and it felt a bit magical. Approaching from different artistic disciplines, we discovered an alliance of values and vision. In developing and bringing Fergal to production, we engaged a team who were a bit magical too.

Darren, Duffy, and Liam developed a shared practice as Arts Council-funded Artists in Residence in Education (2022-2025), at Marino Institute of Education and Mary Immaculate College, together with the multidisciplinary team that became Tally Ho.

What We Do

Our theatre works for young audiences now include Fergal, Boss Rob, and Fancy Dan — with Monkeys in the Garden and Cocooning in development through child-participative process.

In our wider play-making practice, we blend performance and workshop elements to create collective experiences that blur the boundaries between audience experience, with playful invitations to participate and collaborate.

Our work positions children as artists and creative visionaries. Our job is to create the conditions for their imaginations to lead. We also work with adults in making a return to child-like play.

Work With Us

We collaborate with schools, education institutions, arts organisations, festivals, charities, and community groups through workshops, performances, and artist-led projects—each shaped through play and shared imagination.

Based between Dublin, Limerick, and Longford, we're developing meaningful connections as artists in communities.

Have something in mind?

Let’s make it happen.
